North County Jazz Festival
The 29th Annual North County Jazz Festival will be hosted at North County High School in Bonne Terre, MO on Saturday, April 20th, 2024. Our goal for this festival is to provide a positive, educational experience for students and directors. Each performing band will receive a clinic with one of the judges after their performance.
Our festival is a non-ratings festival. We have decided to focus our attention more directly on providing a quality, educational experience. We will still be recognizing Individual Outstanding Musicianship Awards and are adding more opportunities for students, like multiple levels of jam sessions.
Our evening concert is TENTATIVELY set to begin at 7:00pm.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.

In 2013, Matt received the Missouri Bandmasters Association Young Directors Grant, and was nominated by his peers as the 2014 Missouri Outstanding Young Music Educator nominee for the St. Louis Metro 8 District. His pieces have been performed across the country, featured on honor band festival programs, and recorded by professional ensembles. Matt performs professionally on saxophone, clarinet, and flute and is a member of a number of Saint Louis-based music groups, including the Saint Louis Wind Symphony, Sweetie & the Toothaches, the Arcadia Dance Orchestra, and the Diamond Empire Band. In addition to these ensembles, Matt performs regularly with such notable local groups as Andy Coco’s R&B Revue, the Gaslight Squares, Janet Evra, Miss Jubilee, Tommy Halloran's Guerrilla Swing, the LustreLights, and the Liston Brothers. |
Dawn Weber is known as one of the top performers and trumpeters in the St. Louis area. Her wide diversity of styles has made her a unique musician in the scene. She got her start when she left her home of Waukon, Iowa at the age of 16 to study music at the North Carolina School of the Arts. This is also when she started playing professionally in both the jazz and classical genres. After graduating high school from North Carolina School of the Arts she attended the Cleveland Institute of Music where she received her undergraduate degree in trumpet performance. There she trained intensely in the classical genre but also studied jazz and worked in the rock and Latin scene in Cleveland.
